In 2024, the French government launched a call for projects aimed at developing and implementing solutions to replace pesticides, particularly in the fight against harmful organisms such as certain insects. Cap 2020 is proud to be a partner in two of these projects: the PACTE project, which will focus on the brown marmorated stink bug, and the Acompli project, which will address the cotton bollworm (Heliothis).

CAP2020 will develop and provide connected devices for monitoring pests and weather data to enable modeling. The sensors used will be the same as those used in MAGDA, and a large part of the project will involve using this weather data to anticipate pest risks and treat crops when necessary, using more technical approaches such as releasing parasitoids. These methods are more sensitive to upcoming weather conditions, so having access to improved weather forecasts would be a major advantage. Full circle!
